CRASH

HOTEL ZEPHYR - 2015
SAN FRANCISCO, CA

CRASH is a fireplace sculpture commissioned by Hotel Zephyr, a premier boutique hotel on the San Francisco waterfront, for their 9,999 sq-ft “interactive yard” and outdoor event space. CRASH is a post-apocalyptic scene of obsolete technology on fire. A pile of archaic computers and monitors are set ablaze in this imposing fire feature. CRASH is 4-ft tall and 6-ft in diameter, made of weathering (COR-TEN) steel to produce a stable rust patina that survives the elements for years, and includes custom fireplace fittings for the propane-fueled flame effect.
