Nous|interactive Fire Flower
Nous is a nine headed fire flower with interactive controls that regulate the dance of the fire. As the participant manipulates the controls, the flower creates bursts of fire that illuminate and entrance the viewer. The participant feels the flames on his face, hears the roar of the bursts from its 9 flower buds. The participant feels the thrill of power as he or she operates this deadly metal machine/life-form from a safe position at the controls.
A 13’ tall, active fire sculpture, Nous is built from over 800 ft of 1/4 stainless steel rod bar. Flame effects include nine constant flames with nine accumulator tanks that create 5-ft bursts of fire. The effects are both participant controlled from outside the barricades and are also computer controlled by the operator.
APERION | singing Tesla coil flower
A 14’ tall singing Tesla sculpture, APERION is made of copper and stainless steel and electricity, depicting a flower resting on three large leaves.
There are three smart solid state Tesla Coils, each capable of arcing 4+ feet. Each coil is capable of a variety of effects including burst modes, single shot mode, long pulse mode, and an infinite number of other effects with continuously variable pulse width and PRF parameters.
All three coils can play music through the high voltage arcs. The audience can interact with the Tesla coils with three theramins, and “play” the coils. APERION can also play pre-recorded music and take input from external ambient sound systems.
PNEUMA | fire vortex flower
Pneuma is a 12’ tall active fire sculpture made of copper, brass, aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, depicting a flower resting on three large leaves. Flame effects include a rotating fiery stamen that creates a vortex effect 4-10 ft tall and hot blue flames running down each leaf spine. All of the effects are operator controlled from inside the barricades.
SPIKE | spinning fire heart
SPIKE is a 9’ tall active fire sculpture made of bronze and stainless steel in the shape of a heart, with two spinning fire teardrops inside. Fire can be a bright yellow to a light blue. All of the effects are operator controlled from outside the barricades. SPIKE can run for three to five hours. The flickering rotating tear drop flames come out of schedule 40 stainless steel NPT tubing wrapped with stainless steel wool. The sculpture is made from hardened stainless steel tube, capable of taking extreme heat conditions without distortion. Flames are controlled by ball valve.
SPIN | fire vortex
It took a tornado of wind to transport Dorothy out of her familiar Kansas into the colorful land of Oz. This tornado of fire will transport viewers to the swirling surface of the sun. The dizzying tunnel of fire expands in front of the viewer, creating an astonishing revelation of the power of nature. This dynamic, ever-changing phenomenon provides an insight into the true beauty behind fiery destruction.Spin is created from mild steel. It is based on a fire vortex design created by Kevin Binkert for SRL. It creates tornadoes of fire.
